Kobi Simmons, a 28-year-old American guard, joins Baskonia for the next two months. He arrives as a free agent and has the experience of being a journeyman player. In his NBA stint, he played as a shooting guard in 42 games. He will have the option to extend his contract until the end of the current season. Maccabi Tel Aviv signed him in September to replace Daryl Macon, who was injured. If he impressed Oded Kattash, he could have stayed for the whole season. However, he left Tel Aviv after just a month without playing any official games. In November, he accepted an offer from the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in the Chinese league. He signed a temporary contract, which was cut off just a day before it would have automatically extended until the end of the season. The next day, he signed another month's contract, before ending his stint in Asia, where he faced Hamidou Diallo. On that day, the small forward scored 26 points, and the new Baskonia player couldn't do anything to prevent his team's defeat. Now, he joins Baskonia to cover the absences of Forrest and Howard, and it is expected that he will bring his experience and skills to the blue-and-white squad.
